We have seen it grow in popularity the last few years, stores near us have started heavily stocking them, and you probably have met at least one person that sells them. Any Guesses? OILS! That’s right, good old, Essentials Oils.
I’m like the 98% of other people that turn to oils – my end goal was to provide a natural means to support my children’s bodies and replace products with chemicals in my home. Doterra was the leading choice to do this; they use natural and pure extracts from plants that are highly concentrated and provide use of their oils either Aromatically or Topically.
Let me jump into this by saying that I come from a medical background, so I can assure you that I have spent countless hours researching and understanding the science behind what makes oils so beneficial and seeking out the ones that are the purest in quality, highly tested and indigenously grown. And one oil brand stood out above the rest, Doterra.
Essentials Oils can become very overwhelming and quickly. There are tons of choices, blends, and uses. So in an effort to support my fellow parents, I created an online Facebook Community, Empowering Oils With Julie, which provides education, recipes and online videos and classes to help you navigate your way through Essential Oils. And if you need a more personalized experience, I offer Wellness Consults to create custom plans for you and your family. Since we have been using oils, they have greatly helped my children with common tummy issues, respiratory discomfort, boosting their immune systems, calming and daily first aid needs!
During September Doterra will be all about the babies! Doterra has officially launched their new baby line which includes; diaper cream, baby lotion, and baby wash! They are amazing products that are scented with calming oils like Lavender and Roman Chamomile and are without the chemicals and harsh fragrance fillers. These are an exciting option for families looking to make an easy switch to a cleaner and healthier product. Oh, and a bonus, the baby lotion doubles as an excellent moisturizer for moms in a hurry. You know the whole, a little for them a little for me, deal.
I wanted to share a few of my favorite and easiest Doterra blends that are perfect for use on your little ones.
Colic: Mix 1 drop Lavender with the Digestzen Blend. Gently massage a few drops into the abdomen, stroking clockwise to follow the direction of the colon.
Teething: Mix 1 drop Roman Chamomile or Lavender with 1 Tablespoon Fractionated Coconut Oil. Use a small amount to massage the outside of the face and jawline gently.
Cradle Cap: Combine 2 tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil with 1 drop Lemon. Gently apply a small amount of this blend on the baby’s head.
Calming: Dilute Lavender, Roman Chamomile or Serenity blend and apply to their feet. You can apply to your chest if you are holding them to promote relaxation. You could also try diffusing with a diffuser or incorporate daily into your infant massage routine.
I’m currently teaching classes on how to get started using oils specifically for toddlers and babies. I would love for you to join us over at Empowering Oils with Julie or if you would like to get started with private class options, please email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
